Discover Machi Machi Fort Lee

Tucked along 187 Main St in Fort Lee, there’s a spot that blends playful creativity with the comforting feel of a neighborhood café. Stepping into Machi Machi Fort Lee, you’re met with a cozy yet modern setting where every detail feels designed for lingering over a drink or catching up with friends. The space balances clean lines and soft lighting, giving it that inviting vibe locals love when choosing a place for casual meetups.

The menu goes far beyond what you’d expect from a standard tea shop. Known worldwide as the “god of cheese tea,” Machi Machi has earned its reputation with signature drinks layered with cream cheese foam and fresh ingredients. At this Fort Lee location, the highlights range from classic milk teas with pearls to more adventurous blends like jasmine green tea topped with cheese foam. One particularly popular choice is the black milk tea with panna cotta, a dessert-like drink that satisfies both a sweet tooth and a craving for something refreshing. For those who prefer lighter options, fruit teas—made with fresh citrus or berries—are also worth a try, balancing natural sweetness with a crisp finish.

What sets this place apart isn’t just the drinks but the way each item is crafted. The staff pays attention to detail, ensuring consistency in flavor and presentation. Reviews from visitors often highlight the balance in sweetness levels and the smooth texture of the cheese foam, while others mention how the drinks here taste noticeably fresher than similar spots in the area. It’s this consistency that makes people come back, whether they’re on a quick break from work or exploring Fort Lee’s bustling dining scene.

Industry experts note that bubble tea shops are growing rapidly in the U.S., but only a few brands achieve international recognition. Machi Machi is one of them, with features in food publications like Eater and endorsements from celebrities in Asia. That global reputation, combined with the strong local following in New Jersey, gives the Fort Lee location a unique credibility. Customers know they’re getting drinks that have been perfected through years of experimentation and refinement.

If you’re searching for locations that blend international flair with local charm, this shop hits the sweet spot. It brings together authenticity, creativity, and consistency—qualities that build trust in any dining brand. And with its prime location in Fort Lee, it’s easy to see why this spot stands out as more than just another bubble tea shop on Main Street.

  • Soooo good! I eat it for breakfast almost every day. It’s the best sandwich in the entire United States, in my opinion.

  • It’s gotta taste really good for me to give it a 5 given what they charge. $11 for a strawberry matcha slush after adding the mini taro balls. Insane but it delivered! I think I was ultimately sold on those perfect little taro balls. Just be sure to stir the slush really well before drinking. You’ll be mostly sipping on ice wondering what you just paid for if you don’t actually remove the lid, and stir it hard. Added bonus: the park where the store’s at has free WiFi. It’s very pleasant to sip the drink sitting by the park.

  • Always love to stop by Machi Machi to get some tea. They have many options: milk tea, fruit tea etc and toppings. The tea is rich and strong aroma. Not the cheap tea bags you have in the diner. They also have donuts, sandwiches, tanghulu (fruit covered in hardened sugar). All are very good. I have tried all of these over the years. Quick service. Usually there’s no wait. It’s a take-out place. You can order it by kiosk or at the counter. There are 3 seats with wall decorations if you wanna post for social media. Overall a good spot for tea and snacks.

  • Jay Chou’s famous Machi Machi has opened a new store in Fort Lee. No need to take hour long drive to K-town in the city anymore. The store has maintained the same iconic design like the one in the city, with the machi sign and three hanging chairs on the side wall of the drinks booth. Apart of the three chairs there are no other sitting area in the store, but there a few outside the store. There are two kiosk for food and one for drinks order. It seems not enough kiosk for drinks, since many people want to order, the line gets long fast. Both food and drinks menu have lots of option. I was particularly excited to see the egg sandwich section. They have a variety of mochinuts as well. We ordered bunch of drinks to go in our first visit. I loved the brown sugar organic milk latte. Very tasty. Bubbles are soft and chewy. I was little disappointed the drinks are not see thru cups. I couldn’t tell if the brown sugar was mixed properly. Also, my wife didn’t get bubbles in hers, which we realized only after leaving the store. We are really happy to see another exclusive bubble tea brand making it’s way to NJ. We will be stopping by here a lot in coming data for both sandwiches and drinks.

  • We love the milk tea here. It’s so much creamier and more unique than other places. Black tea with crème brûlée is our go-to! It is literally like a dessert in a cup. It’s pricy but it’s so worth it. Follow me for more food adventures on Instagram at @maggielicious.to
